How to write a contractor website homepage: copy examples for each section

Architectural photographs and blank copy blocks arranged as a contractor homepage.

Write clearer contractor website copy with practical examples for the hero, services, projects, FAQs, and enquiry section.

Good contractor website copy helps a visitor establish fit: do you do the work they need, in the area they need, with a process they understand? You do not need to sound like a large construction group to answer those questions. Specific, accurate language usually communicates more than a string of superlatives. The examples below are fictional writing examples, not claims about any company.

Hero: explain the offer before the slogan

Example headline: “Home renovations for lived-in spaces.” Supporting sentence: “We help homeowners plan and deliver kitchen, bathroom, and whole-home renovations in [your service area].” Use only the services you actually provide. Pair the statement with a relevant completed project and a clear enquiry button.

Replace vague claims

Instead of “Building excellence through innovation,” explain the type of work and the customer. Instead of “The best team in the region,” give verified evidence elsewhere on the page. A confident headline does not need an unsupported ranking claim.

Services: define the scope

Example: “Kitchen renovation — cabinetry, finishes, and installation coordination around an agreed project scope.” If you handle design, approvals, structural work, or specialist trades, describe the actual arrangement. Do not imply those services are included when they are delivered separately. A short service description should help visitors decide whether to ask for more detail.

About and benefits: describe how you work

Replace “customer-focused service” with a concrete practice, such as “You receive an agreed scope before work begins,” if that is true. Tell visitors who they will communicate with and how changes are discussed. Avoid invented years of experience, team counts, accreditations, or response times inherited from a demo.

Projects: provide context

Example: “A compact bathroom reconfigured for improved storage and easier everyday use.” Follow with the work your team completed. A photograph and one useful sentence can say more than a generic paragraph about passion. If you show a before-and-after comparison, make the scope and viewpoint understandable.

FAQs: answer the hesitation

Choose questions your customers actually ask: which areas you cover, what information is needed initially, how the estimate process works, or whether a particular kind of work is suitable. Do not use the FAQ to repeat the hero. If pricing depends on inspection, explain that instead of promising an instant final quote.

Contact: tell visitors what to send

Example: “Tell us what you would like to renovate, where the property is, and your preferred timing. We will review the details and explain the next step.” Publish a specific reply window only if the team can support it.

Apply the outline to Briston

Briston brings the hero, About, Services, Cases, credibility content, FAQs, and contact together on one main page. Match each text block to its existing role instead of filling every space with a sales slogan. Read the finished page aloud, remove repetition, and check the mobile layout after replacing the demo copy.
