One-page vs multi-page contractor websites: which should you choose?

Choose a contractor website structure based on your services, proof, and enquiry process—not the number of pages in a template.

A one-page contractor website can be a sensible starting point when a business has a focused offer, a clear service area, and a small collection of strong projects. A multi-page website becomes useful when different services need substantial explanations. Neither format automatically creates better leads. The question is whether a prospective customer can find enough relevant information to decide to contact you.

Start with the customer’s decision

A homeowner comparing renovation companies usually needs to understand the work you accept, where you operate, how your projects look, and what happens after an enquiry. Put those answers into a content outline before choosing a template. If the outline fits naturally into one coherent journey, separate pages may add maintenance without adding value.

When a one-page website makes sense

Consider one page when you sell closely related services to a similar audience. A small renovation company might introduce its offer, show selected projects, explain its approach, answer common questions, and finish with a contact form. Navigation can take visitors to sections on the same page. A section link is not a separate service page.

  • Your service descriptions are short and meaningfully different.

  • You have a manageable set of projects rather than a large searchable portfolio.

  • The same enquiry process works for most customers.

  • Someone on the team can keep the whole page accurate.

When separate pages earn their place

A company offering distinct residential and commercial services may need more room. Individual pages can explain different project requirements, show relevant examples, and answer specialist questions. A growing portfolio may also need individual case studies. Do not create near-identical location pages by changing only a town name: each page should have a real purpose and genuinely useful local information.

A practical decision test

Write a short summary for each proposed page. If it repeats the homepage, keep it as a section for now. If it needs its own examples, process, limitations, and next step, a separate page may be justified. This is an editorial test, not a promise about search rankings.

How Briston fits this choice

Briston is a focused one-page construction and renovation template, with About, Services, Cases, benefits, FAQs, and a contact form. Privacy Policy and Terms of Use are separate pages. It is not a ready-made library of individual service or project pages. Choose it when that concise structure matches your business; plan additional design work if you need a larger architecture.

Make the decision before buying

Prepare your service list, three representative projects, service area, and enquiry requirements. Compare that material with the live preview on the Briston product page. The right starting point is the template that supports your actual content—not the one that encourages you to invent more of it.
